I am shocked that the official guide--skira--does not explain why we see two haloed infants, instead of one, in the fresco The Birth Of the Virgin.
Last summer, dozen of tourists were disappointed that no explanation was given.
There is an explanation, and it is part of an article I have just completed.
If interested, do write me.
I teach art at Harvard University and the author of books on the Italian Renaissance.
Last July 10, I gave a lecture on art at the Museo delle Genti d"abruzzo, Pescara. You may call its director: Dr DePompeis.
Best wishes.
